The Magic of Apps

I think there is something ‘magical’ about how technologies, such as apps, can transform how we do things.  This particular project represents an opportunity to see archival materials outside the walls of a library – while in your own home, at a cafe or while waiting at an airport – from a device that is as big as the palm of your hand.  Making these ‘magical’ tools requires some inspiration.  I’ve chosen my source of inspiration in the form of two books in the magical realism genre (yes, a strange way to begin an app project). I though in this case it would be fitting to choose a couple books by two women writers: the Museum of Extraordinary Things by Alice Hoffman and Eva Luna by Isabelle Allende.  Follow the blog to hear how this ‘magical’ experiment unfolds!
